Peters Engineering Group was selected by the City of Fresno to prepare plans, specifications, and estimates for installation of new curb, gutter, sidewalk, and ramps along the south side of Tulare Street to reduce the lane width and provide a new sidewalk. Tulare Street was a 5-lane roadway, including a two way left turn lane. The street design included a new pavement design on the south side of Tulare to fix cross slope issues, new storm drain pipelines and inlets for drainage, and construction of ADA ramp facilities where either no ramps existed, or the existing ramps were significantly deficient. Existing striping alignments were redesigned to accommodate new bike lanes on both the north and south side of the road, and the roadway was reduced to a 3-lane collector, including a two-way left turn. The project design was completed in 2023 and construction was completed in fall of 2023.
