Peters Engineering Group was selected by Kings County to prepare plans, specifications, and estimates to reconstruct Avenal Cutoff Road from Jackson Avenue to the California Aqueduct, as stretch of almost 15 miles. The project is intended to be designed in 5 phases. The improvements include reconstruction and minor widening of the existing pavement utilizing the Full Depth Reclamation with cement process, minor drainage improvements, including swales to accommodate existing drainage features, and the installation of new street signs and striping consistent with requirements of the 2014 Manual on Uniform Traffic Devices (MUTCD). The 30% design for the entire project has been completed. Phase 1 of the project design was completed in Summer 2023 and Phase 2 of the project design was completed in Spring 2025.
