Herndon Avenue Widening Brawley to Blythe – Peters Engineering Group

The City of Fresno retained Peters Engineering Group, with Design Lab 252 as the Landscape Architect, to prepare plans, specifications, and estimate for the widening of westbound Herndon Avenue from 2 lanes to 3 lanes. The project included design and construction of Fresno Irrigation District facilities on the north side of Herndon Avenue. New bike trail improvements were proposed, including landscaping and irrigation. The north side of the existing median island was proposed to be reconstructed to allow for the additional lane width. The median island landscape needed to be redesigned using the existing irrigation connection. The project included a full grind and overlay of the existing portion of westbound Herndon Avenue from Brawley to Blythe.
